Red and Yellow Flashes

Every day between four and five’ o’clock, all around Kidd Island Bay, you can hear sounds like thunder and roaring, mixed with the laughter of boys. It echoes across the bay, and is so loud; you could probably here it inside your house. You might also see flashes of red, green and yellow, flying down Boisen’s hill. If you happen to be driving down Boisen Loop, you may find the source of this problem.

After school activities for the Kidd Island Kidds can range, but one of their favorites they call “Tricycle Riding”. Each tricycle is different in its own way, some are big and slow, but these are better for Bombazia, a race where there are no rules, and you can crash into each other. Some are small and quick, which practically fly down the hill, these can make excellent racing trikes. Whatever the bike, they’re all fun!

Andrew Schaefer, Eli Putren, Sam Putren and Gregory Schaefer all enjoy this odd pastime. “It’s like sledding in the summer!” AJ says. The boys try some crazy stunts, like tying their trikes together. This plan didn’t work very well, and put a halt to there racing for a minute or two. Thankfully they were good as can be in a minute or two, and they’ve given up on that plan!

No matter how many accidents it causes, I would say that the tricycle riding will never get old! They enjoy this so much they’ve even written a song about this for their band (see page_) called Tricycle Riding. As long as our ear drums don’t break, tricycle riding is a keeper.
